Short of numbers, not of quality

The Youth team again took to the field without the full compliment of 11 players but still claimed three points at Dukefield.  Having beaten Bryncoch, with only ten players, in September, the hosts could only muster nine starters against lowly Cwmamman and were a goal down after only ten minutes.  The belated arrival of Sam Williams and Andrew Dyer bolstered the Yellow and Greens and they were soon level thanks to Liam Bennett's penalty after Sam Knight had been hauled down in the box.

However, Cwmamman looked set for a famous victory after they profited from a defensive error to retake the lead with less than a quarter remaining.  Once again, Bennett gave Dunvant hope with a cool finish and he completed his hat-trick, with eight minutes left on the clock, to claim all three valuable points.

News that Sandfields and Garden Village had dropped points made the result all the more significant and Dunvant climbed to the top of the West Wales Youth League for the first time.  They will hope to have more players available for the visit of Penlan next week!
