Under-15s Crowned SSFL Champions
The under-15s kept their nerve to clinch the League title with victory against Landore. On a balmy evening, at Mynydd Newydd, the Yellow and Greens knew that three points would clinch their first 11-a-side title, having secured a vital point against rivals Gorseinon, two days earlier.
Dunvant started well but had to wait until the 15th minute to break the deadlock. A corner was not cleared by the Landore defence and Dylan Bebb took advantage with a powerful drive into the corner of the net. The vital second goal didn't take long coming. Louis Gillett found space on the edge of the box to find Joseff Rowlands on the left side and his angled strike gave the Landore Keeper no chance.
The two-goal lead allowed the Dunvant players to relax in the second half and their play was far criper, as a result. The lead was further extended by Callum Dloman's accurate header and Sam Powell's close-range finish before Landore squandered the opportunity to claim a consolation from the penalty spot, late on.
