Dunvant 3X   4  Clarbeston Road 1

The under-16s won a thrilling final, at Llanelli's Stebonheath, to claim the WWFA Youth Cup.  The 2017 SSFL champions were always in control of a match played in miserable conditions and always had the upper hand over a hard-working Clabby side.

Dunvant made the perfect start with the opening goal in the second minute.  Dylan Bebb's perfect free kick was glanced home by Sam Powell for his 5th goal of the campaign and the lead was doubled, on the quarter hour mark, by Joseff Rowlands's powerful shot after Louis Gillett's deft pass.

The Yellow and Greens controlled the first half but were grateful to keeper Jake Vincent for making a world-class save, in stoppage time, to preserve their 2-0 interval advantage.

The second half began positively, for Dunvant, and the third goal wasn't long coming.  Bebb and Gillett combined to tee up Callum Dolman to sweep a majestic strike into the roof of the net from the edge of the box.  At this point, the result seemed secure but Clabby enjoyed a productive 20 minute period and were rewarded with a goal of their own.

However, this was the cue for Dunvant to re-exert their authority and, with time running out, Dolman drew a foul in the Clabby penalty area prompting referee Phil Harries to point to the spot.  Bebb stepped up and made no mistake for his 16th goal of the season and put the icing on the cake.

Having seen off Llangyfelach, Seaside and Johnstown en route to the final, the Yellow and Greens can feel deserving winners of the cup and look back on a thoroughly successful campaign.  They will hope to add the SSFL cup to their collection, later in the month.
