Youth ensure Christmas #1

A convincing victory over Glais, at Dukefield, ensured that Dunvant will enter the Christmas period on top of the West Wales Youth League.  Once again, they were forced to come from behind to win after a sluggish start but a powerful second half display secured a vital three points on a day when very few other matches were played.

Glais took the lead, midway through the opening half, slightly against the run of play and Dunvant were guilty of missing several good chances before they finally equalised.  Not for the first time this season, skipper Jonathan Bebb brought his side back into the match with a fine finish from the edge of the area.

After the break it was one-way-trafic and the Yellow and Greens were soon ahead.  Ben Chalk finally found his range and Jac Greenwood made it three with a clinical strike into the top corner.  The hosts dominated possession and made light work of the muddy conditions underfoot.  Cameron Davies converted from the spot after Sam Knight had been felled and Liam Bennett added a well deserved fifth to wrap things up near the end.

The second half of the season will bring several tough challenges but Dunvant will go into the New Year with a four point lead at the top of the table and confidence that their destiny is firmly in their own hands.
