Youth make cup progress against 8-man Llangy

A game of two very contarsting halves saw Dunvant advance into the first round of the Cup at the expense of an indisciplined Llangyfelach side.  The hosts took an early lead, through Jonathan Bebb's excellent free kick, but found themselves 3-1 down at the interval as a result of good Llangy attacking and poor defending.

However, the real fireworks were reserved for the second period as the visitors completely imploded and fell foul of the referee.  Numerous fouls, and dissent, led to several yellow cards and, after Cameron Davies had reduced the arrears from the spot after Sam Knight had been fouled, the visitors were soon reduced to 10 men.  Dan Sorley then brought the Yellow and Greens level, with a cool finish, and when Knight was again upended in the box, Llangy's keeper was dismissed and Davies slotted home his second penalty.  Dunvant then took control thanks to Davies's free-kick, after another nasty foul, and Ryan James was on hand to slot home a third Dunvant penalty in injury time after a third Llangy player had seen red.

The second half comeback would have pleased the Dunvant players and management, as would their discipline in the face of some fiery opposition.  The next round will see them visit Sandfields in the pick of the first round matches.
